STEP 1
SELF-AWARENESS
You realize that you are a sinner (Luke 18:13) in need of God's grace. You have not followed the commandments of God. You have been living a life without God. But you realized that God loves you (John 3:16) and that He is drawing you to a changed life.
STEP 2
REPENTANCE
You repent by feeling sorry about the sinful way you have lived, and make a commitment to follow Jesus Christ (Acts 3:19). You must confess that you have sinned against God and ask for forgive. When you repent, you experience God’s forgiveness. "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John1:8-9).
STEP 3
WATER BAPTISM
You are baptized in water in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission, or washing away of your sins. In baptism your old life is symbolically “buried”, and you are raised to live a new life (See Acts 2:38, Romans 6:4). "For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ" (Galatians 3:27).
STEP 4
HOLY SPIRIT BAPTISM
You receive the gift of the Holy Spirit which comes in to help you live a righteous life before God. The Holy Spirit empowers you to resist temptation and sin, to live a life pleasing before God (Acts 2:4, John 14:26). You continue to live a lifestyle of righteous and holy life each day, praying, and reading God’s Word daily. You seek to know God daily through prayer and Bible study. As believer in Christ, you are now called to witness and share God’s love with others. you are a witness to others. With the help of the Holy Spirit, you turn away from your sinful ways towards a Christlike living.
